School for Friends, located in Washington, DC, provides a loving, caring, and supportive educational environment for children ages 12 months through five years. We are committed to creating a diverse community of children and families. The curriculum reflects the Quaker values of cooperation, equality, and nonviolence. We encourage all aspects of child development – social, emotional, physical, and cognitive – in a setting that is safe, warm, and nurturing. We help children develop positive self-concepts and understand others from different cultural and economic backgrounds. We are committed to the inclusion of children with special needs. We are open from 8:15 am to 5:45 PM, Monday through Friday, year round.
